On
this special occasion, Designer Sumona Parekh, described the collection, “The
Spring Summer Bridal 2016” collection envisions a season of pastel colours and
light weight celebratory attire which aims to give every bride a choice. The
aim is to make every bride feel as formal or as casual on her big day as she
wants to be. Young and older women are all evolving in their mindset and
attitude as we speak and dress codes are changing along with them”
The
Summer Bridal range of collection mainly focuses on light unfussy lehengas,
which are light in weight and easy to manage with a very cool and breezy look
and feel to it. The fabrics used were mainly georgette, chanderi, net and
chiffon. The silhouettes of the
collection include Bridal chanderi lehengas, georgette soft lehengas
embellished with impeccable zardozi work depicting the Bengal gharana chandbali
motifs, georgette kalli-cut and bias-cut lehengas, kalidars with panels,
layered long kurtis with churidars to short layered kurtis with dhotis. The
collection also showcases a varied range of India’s hand worked Lucknowi
embroidery and the Japanese technique of kirigami appliqué work of
cut-and-paste which enhances the summer bridal look in elegant and subtle ways.
