The Faculty of Architecture and Ekistics celebrated the Earth Day on 22ndApril 2016. A plantation drive was carried out in the faculty premises that was in sync with the theme of the year "Trees for the Earth". Prof (Dr.) S.M. Akhtar, Dean Faculty of Architecture & Ekistics addressed the students to generate awareness and sensitivity towards nature and the ecological cycle of dependence and survival. The event came to a close with planting of about forty saplings procured by young faculty members Ar. Iqtedar Alam and Ar. Imaad Nizami.
Over hundred countries join together in the celebration of the Earth Day on 22nd April every year since 1970. It is a constant reminder to pledge ourselves towards saving water, planting more trees and preventing pollution and letting the Earth "live". The faculty proposes to carry forward its activities by organizing nature walks in and around the campus in near future.
