Jamia, which has a Centre for North East Studies and Policy Research (NESPR) that functions as leading research and documentation centre for the region, will have an opportunity to work closely with the institution for the academic development of the region. The MoU opens opportunities for collaborative research projects, seminars, workshops and faculty support. The USTM students would have opportunities to attend special classes to receive greater exposure in the respective subjects.
The MoU was signed by Prof. Talat Ahmad, Vice-Chancellor, JMI and Mr. Mahbubul Hoque, Chancellor, USTM in the presence of distinguished guests and senior academic officials of the university.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Talat Ahmad averred that any handholding of academic institutions from North East Region will go a long way in strengthening their educational base besides leading to the development of the region.
The USTM has already entered into academic collaborations with several other universities like JNU and Tezpur University.
