Gang of auto lifters busted : 3 accused arrested.6 stolen motor cycles recovered,17 cases of M.V. theft solved.

A team of PS Vasant Kunj South, South District has busted a gang of auto lifters and arrested 3 auto lifters namely Deep Bhagwati @ Deepu, age 21 years r/o Mangla Puri, Palam, Delhi, Karan Trivedi @ Prohit, age 20 years r/o Mahipalpur, Delhi and Kundan Singh Negi, age 19 years r/o District Almoda, Uttrakhand.  6 stolen motor cycles recovered and 17 cases of M.V. theft solved.

In view of spurt in M.V. theft in the area of PS Vasant Kunj, a police team comprising Inspr./ATO Ugesh Kumar, SI Rakesh Kumar, SI Raj Kumar, HC Inderjeet, HC Harish, HC Ashok, Ct Devender, Ct. Aman and Ct. Sachin Mann led by Inspr. Virender Jain, SHO/V.K. South under the supervision of Sh. K.P. Kukrety, ACP/Vasant Vihar was formed to keep sharp vigil in the area and develop intelligence about the auto lifters, active in the area.  The motor cycle patrolling and picketing in the area was augmented.  The police team worked relentlessly and continued its efforts by analyzing the CCTV footage at and around the places where the incidents of auto lifting were reported.

          On 05.05.16, the police team while analyzing the CCTV footage regarding theft of a two wheeler from Mahipalpur, it was noticed that some local boys from Mahipalpur were involved in the crime.  On the basis of clues got from CCTV footage, the police team analyzed the records and dossiers of the auto lifters previously involved in auto lifting. During screening of dossiers and CCTV footage, one of the criminals namely Deep Bhagwati @ Deepu was identified. His movements were tracked and criminal intelligence developed. On 08.05.16, on receipt of specific input, the police team arrested accused Deep Bhagwati @ Deepu along with his associates namely Kundan Singh Negi and Karan Trivedi @ Prohit while they were going to buy liquor from Rajokari Border on a stolen Scooty.
