Nine students who coached at Residential Coaching Academy of Jamia get into Civil Services 2015



Jamia Millia Islamia is pleased to share that nine students who coached at the Residential Coaching Academy run by Centre for Career and Coaching Planning, Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) have been finally selected for country’s most coveted Civil Services 2015 announced by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) based on the results of the written part of Civil Services Examination, 2015 and the interviews for Personality Test held in March-May, 2016. The name of the selected candidates is as follows:

2. Shakeel Ahmad Ghanie
3. Basharat Qayoom
4. Minhaj Nizami
5. Bemson Samuel Ninan
6. Rohit Yadav
7. Haris bin Zaman
8. Vishram Meena
9. Dr. Safdar Ali

Prof. Talat Ahmad, Vice Chancellor, Jamia Millia Islamia congratulated the successful candidates for their exemplary performance. He hoped that the Centre for Coaching and Career Planning in Jamia will move from strength to strength in the coming years and produce finest candidates for Indian bureaucracy.

The Residential Coaching Academy in Jamia, funded by the University Grants Commission, offers free coaching and residential facilities to students belonging to SC, ST, Women, and the Minorities categories. They were selected for their comprehensive coaching on the basis of an all India written test followed by individual interviews. They were subsequently taught in a variety of optional and compulsory subjects. Classroom teaching was followed by test series, feedback to them on their individual performance in various tests, and finally, a series of interview-based group interactions and mock interviews conducted by experts in the area.

 Jamia’s Residential Coaching Academy has distinguished itself as a unique centre where civil services aspirants find an eminently conducive atmosphere. Highly responsive faculty, round-the-clock library facility, interactive sessions with invited speakers and guests, apart from their personal efforts at connecting with each other and in groups prepare the students for the kind of aim they are set to meet. This has been borne out by the results they have shown now and earlier. In addition to the civil services, many students of the Centre for Coaching and Career Planning got selected in a variety of central and state services. 

Some of these successful candidates are likely to get into elite services like IAS, IPS, and IFS among others.
